A low ladderback chair painted in the Mexican folk tradition - a red ground with flowers worked across all three back slats and the front stretcher, turned and banded uprights, and a hand-woven rush seat in a herringbone pattern.
The wear is the good kind: thinned paint exactly where hands and feet have touched it for decades, over a frame that is still tight. A useful occasional chair, and a piece of decoration in its own right against a plain wall.
