MADOURA, NOT PICASSO, AND WE WILL NOT BLUR THAT. Madoura was the exclusive editor of Picasso's ceramics, and it also produced a large body of its own studio ware under the same roof. Picasso editions carry EDITION PICASSO alongside the Plein Feu stamp, normally with an edition number. No such mark is present here. These are Madoura studio pieces and are offered as exactly that; neither form has been matched to a catalogued Suzanne Ramie design.

Which is its own thing worth having. The Ramies were serious potters before Picasso ever walked into Vallauris, and this matte green glaze over red clay is a house look: quiet, tactile and unmistakably Vallauris.
