Original Oil Painting Fishing Boat Beached at Low Tide Marine Ornate Gilt Frame
PRODUCT DETAILS
• Material: Oil on panel/board, hand-painted, in an ornate gilt composition frame
• Dimensions: Framed approx. 12.25 x 13.5 in; sight size approx. 6.5 x 8.4 in
• Color/Finish: Tan-sailed vessel against a smooth sky and sea, heavily impasted wet foreshore; frame shows rubbing and small chips at the high points with a green bole underlayer visible through the wear
• Condition: Paint film sound with no flaking or losses seen; frame has cosmetic wear consistent with age and handling; open face, no glazing
• Era/Period: 20th century, painted in the 19th-century Dutch/English marine manner
• Subject: A two-masted fishing vessel beached on a wet foreshore, figures in 17th/18th-century-style coats and broad hats unloading baskets, a stone jetty and low cliff at right, a distant sail on the horizon
This hand-painted marine scene shows real brushwork and knife-worked impasto in the foreshore, confirmed under multiple lighting angles, so it is an original painting rather than a print. The panel is unsigned with no maker's marks on the verso, so it is offered plainly as an unattributed 20th-century work done in the older Dutch marine tradition. The ornate gilt frame adds presence for a coastal or nautical-themed wall grouping.
