• Provenance: Inscribed by the artist to Mr and Mrs Cy Girard, 1966; descended in the Girard family, the current owner's family

• Subject: Two stylized female dancers on a round plinth, drawn as a sculpture group; signature reads "Chaim Gross" in graphite matching the drawing, but has not been independently authenticated

This 1966 graphite and watercolor sheet shows two dancers posed on a round base, the kind of sculptural dancer-and-acrobat subject Chaim Gross worked in throughout his career. It carries a personal graphite inscription from the artist to Mr and Mrs Cy Girard dated the same year, and has descended in that family since. The signature is consistent with Gross's known hand and the drawing's style and date, but it has not been checked against the artist's estate or foundation records.
