La Medea by Rori Capodimonte Porcelain Apothecary Group Crowned N Mark Italy
La Medea by Rori Capodimonte Porcelain Apothecary Group Crowned N Mark Italy
PRODUCT DETAILS
• Maker: La Medea, Naples, sculptor Rori. The base carries the crowned N over 'LA MEDEA', the script signature 'Rori', and 'PORCELLANE CAPODIMONTE / MADE IN ITALY' — photographed here so you can read it yourself.
• Period: 20th century. La Medea is a modern Neapolitan workshop working in the Capodimonte tradition. This is NOT a piece of the 18th-century royal factory and is not offered as one.
• Material: Hand-painted glazed porcelain on a scrolled gilt-finished base
• Subject: An apothecary behind a marble-topped counter marked "Chiedi L'Elixir", with a seated gentleman, his cane and top hat
• Dimensions: Approx. 12 in wide x 11 in tall
• Condition: Very good — no chips, cracks or restoration found
Two-figure groups of this size are the scarcer end of what La Medea made; most of what turns up is a single small figure.
Collection or local delivery preferred; hand-painted porcelain of this size travels badly.
